MONTGOMERYSHIRE WIDE FORUM UPDATE

 
 

           MONTGOMERYSHIRE WIDE TOWN AND COMMUNITY COUNCIL FORUM

Following the suggestion by the North Powys Forum meetings were held in November seeking views on the setting up of a Montgomeryshire Wide Forum to discuss local issues of common interest.

One Voice Wales has expressed the view that they should run such a forum, those present at the November meetings did not support this.

A vote is being taken to see what support their is for such a forum and the results so far are shown here.

The secretary is meeting One Voice Wales and also is in discussion with PCC on the issue.

UPDATE

The  Montgomeryshire Wide Forum which has been asked for by many Town and Community Councils has been the subject of discussions between Welshpool, One Voice Wales and Powys County Council.

The North Powys Forum will now meet, inviting the other Councils who have shown interest, to see what they wish to do next.

Powys County Council have made it clear that One Voice Wales is the organisation they will deal with regarding a Montgomeryshire Wide Forum.

A report will be sent to all Councils on where we are.

  

   MEMBERSHIP RESULTS SO FAR

Councils in GREEN have agreed to be part of the forum, those in RED have declined the invitation.  A letter has been sent from Powys County Council to every Town and Community Council stating that they wish One Voice Wales to hold such meetings.  The North Powys Forum should continue on a formal basis.
